The concept album by Blake Carpenter..The road to Avalon, has arrived.. HERE!

In 2000 Blake Carpenter began writing a song that he thought was going to be epic. It was a song about taking a journey back in time to learn from the great sages of the past. Avalon, as it was written, extended to about 10 minutes in length, pretty long compared to the other music he was writing at that time. The song was powerful, power metal full. It was a lone song in a time when he was writing a gothic rock opera (coming someday) and it was set aside for some time.
It did have a brief moment in the spotlight with Ogma (his band 2 years later) when they played it live one night in 2003. It then sat on a memory shelf for 3 more years till it was brought back to life in 2006 to be the main track on a project called The Road To Avalon. Still a power metal idea Blake began writing songs with topics from the middle ages, Knights, Kings, Peasants, and more.
Working with a local guitar player they had 8 tracks ready and were vigorously seeking other musicians to complete the line up to perform these great songs live. After about a year of finding no one Blake began to feel discouraged and nearly gave up, he put the project aside for a while and moved on to writing songs for another project Dream Things True.

3 years later after recording Dream Things True Blake decided to bring Avalon back to life, only the idea for it had changed. It went from power metal to prog literally over night. Blake felt it was a song that could be so much more than an Iron Maiden imitation. He began to write music that would surround Avalon and give it more meaning. Rewriting the lyrics he decided he would retell the story of Arthur and Camelot. That brings us here, 2012. A completely new animal from what it was in 2000, the song Avalon and all it's friends on The Road To Avalon feature some of the worlds greatest musicians!
